If you are located here in Murfreesboro, you have SURELY heard about the Ruthie Awards given out each year.  This year, is the 16th year of these awards.  The awards purpose is to highlight the favorite businesses/service people/hospitals, etc etc.  And this year, YOUR photographer was nominated.  <Insert goofy grin here>.

And I’m happy to be nominated.  And while I know my business is very fairly young, especially compared to some of the other photographers/portrait studios in the area, I have high hopes.  I thought – “wow, wouldn’t it be super cool to be a finalist this year?!?”    I mean sure it would be crazy wow to win but to at least be a finalist, now that is a good goal, right?!  So this is where ALL of you come in!  Because well, you like me, right?!  <insert yet another goofy grin here>.  Would you please, please vote for me?

Just  a quick note.  I’m back in the office this morning!   I’m already hard at work returning emails and getting things scheduled or rescheduled (since we have nasty weather coming tomorrow).

I am now booked for may and have very limited availability for June.  If you are interested in booking a session for this summer, please go ahead and email me so we can be sure to get you a session!

And by the way, Portland Maine is fabulous and so is spending sooo much uninterrupted time with the most amazing man I know!

Drum roll please:……………………………  MY wonderful amazing husband Brett and I are going out of town.  ALONE.  Wait did you read that? Its true, its true!  Almost SIX years.  Our sweet wonderful daughter Anna was born six years ago.  And we haven’t taken a single trip alone since then.  Its long overdue and we are very excited.  So, I will be pretty much unavailable until Friday.  My wonderful mother in law Linda is holding down the fort here and taking care of my girlies.  I trust her completely (although I’m still nervous, give a loving mom a break! )   So if you are looking to book a session or have any questions, I will return emails on Friday (or maybe Saturday!)  Hope you all have a wonderful week, I know I will!

If you’ve been poking around any, you’ve probably seen some big changes here at Whitehill Photography!  We’ve given our web presence a bit of a facelift and have added several new programs!

First up is the new blog.  I have to say, I just love it!

As we move along, I’ll also be releasing a few new fabulous products that really are what we are all about here at Whitehill: Modern, fresh and unique!  I love them and I think you all will too!

I’ll leave you with the new info on the print packages.  Each package has a built in discount AND the opportunity to purchase additional prints at a discount!  I’ve been asked a few times if that meant I was going to start making my AWESOME clients purchase “by the pose” and the answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT!  You are also NOT required to purchase a print package and can still purchase a la carte.  Prices and sessions fee have changed a bit so be sure to take note of that for our next session together!

Lastly, this means we are now officially booking for the Spring and Summer again.  I appreciate all of you being so patient while I took care of “business”.  I am currently booking into May and June so let’s talk soon!

Well its time.  I’ve been hinting at some things changing for a weeks now and its finally here!   Time for a few changes here at Whitehill Photography.  I’ll be rolling out packages, baby plans and a big tweak on my look.  So, over the next day or two, if you visit the blog here or the website, things might be a bit tricky while I update everything.  Hold on though, I promise I’ll be back and with new things to show!  I’m excited to show you all!

I know, I know… there are a million people out there asking you to donate your hard earned money for a cause.  Telethons, walkathons, raffles, school fundraisers, church fundraisers, sports team fundraisers… the list goes on and on.  Its not often that I talk about my personal life here on the blog.  However, the annual Walk for MS is approaching and we’ve begun assembling our team.

“MS, you say?”  Yes, Multiple Sclerosis.  “But that’s treatable right?!” For many there are treatments that really work and really help.  Unfortunately, not all forms of MS have and FDA approved medications or treatments for them.  The way we fight this is for more money and more research.

A few years ago, my husband – my amazing wonderful gift from God husband, started having some strange things going on.  He was having intense fatigue and deep leg pain that no medication was even touching.  Things progressed and after alot of drs appointment we found an answer.  My husband has Primary Progressive MS.  PPMS is one of the more rare forms of MS that really have no helpful treatments for.   So my husband is left in pain pretty much every hour of every day of his life.  You would never know it unless you noticed him limping or watched my vibrant, young, seemingly healthy husband use a cane on long walks.  He’s determined not to let this thing stop him and we are all determined that they (meaning the wonderful doctors and researchers out there working hard) WILL give him some hope and some relief one day.  So I’m asking YOU to help us!

The event happens on April 10th, 2010.  Registration begins at 9:00 am and the walk begins at 10:30 am.  Its a 1 mile walk (nothing too strenuous, I promise!!) at the Barfield Crescent Park here in Murfreesboro, you can find registration at Shelter #7.

After the hustle and bustle of fall portrait and Christmas card season, this photographer is taking a much needed vacation.  Starting Monday, December 21st- January 4th, I will be out of the office.  I want to spend the rest of this week concentrating on my family and what this coming holiday means to me and our family.  After Christmas we are going on a highly anticipation family vacation and will be away from the computer.  I do have access to my email if something is incredible urgent but won’t be available at all times, even through email.
I want to take this time to again thank all of my amazing clients this year.  It has been an incredible year;  full of learning experiences, tons of laughs, millions of silly noises (by me, to get those sweet children to smile!!) and I thank you for following me on my journey.  I pray that you and your family have a blessed Christmas; delighting in what it means to be a family, the miracle of His birth and the beauty of it all.   Happy New Year, I’m excited for what 2010 brings and the changes it brings in your children as I get to capture them growing!

So far, I’ve pretty much stuck to the typical portraits products: prints, canvases, greeting cards, etc.  Mostly because I’ve yet to see another type of product that I felt was worthy of passing on to my awesome clients.  I’m not a fan of gimmick products to just up a sale.  However, I have now found a product that I think every mother and grandmother will just love!  Imagine your favorite image from a session in a custom made photo charm!

These charms are made using a crystal clear glass tile measuring 1 inch x 1 inch and are just stunning!  The charm comes complete with a simple ball chain but you can slip it on your favorite necklace chain, as well!

Here are a few examples images to give you an idea of these beautiful charms.
