At the end of this past week I got a chance to photograph some sweet little kiddos that I like to call niece and nephew (and that’s not because I’m weird, they actually are MY niece and nephew!)  They are fun, they are sweet and I love them.  I think its probably pretty obvious that I am some way related to these kids, especially once you see my nephew’s hair!   Enjoy.

So on Thursday I posted my big news of being voted “Best Kids Photographer 2010″ for the Rutherford Parent Magazine.  And I also said that I’d have ANOTHER big announcement for today!  And here it is: Whitehill Photography was voted “Favorite Photographer” 2010 for the Daily News Journal “Ruthie” awards!  Wow, what an incredible honor.  I’m amazed at all the support, love and congratulations that have flowed with my week of good news! I’m amazed at my clients, fans and friends that cared enough to NOT ONLY make me a finalist (like I had hoped!!) but to take it a step further to declare me the FAVORITE photographer of Rutherford County.  I am humbled to be among a great community of VERY talented photographers and just can not say enough about this!

So thank you, thank you, thank you!!!  Photographing your children, your family, your love is what makes me happy and so I am so honored to be called your favorite! I’ve hinted around for a couple of weeks on Facebook that there was big news in store for Whitehill Photography and here it IS!  For those of you in Rutherford County, you ALL know the Rutherford Parent magazine.  The free local resource on parenting for our area.  Its an amazing little magazine and I know I faithfully read it each and every month!  This time of year they run the Parent Choice Awards.  I was notified that I (Whitehill Photography!!) won “Best Kids Photographer, 2010!!!”   WOW.  WOW.  WOW.  I’m floored, awed and humbled! Thank you all!  Its been an amazing 2 years here at Whitehill and I NEVER thought I’d win something like this, especially this quickly!

Okay so you might remember that we started Eva’s session about six weeks ago.  We had a great session with lots of fun things planned and then about half way through it, thick heavy rain clouds rolled in and nixed the rest of the session.  So we rescheduled and it rained AGAIN.  So here we are again, finishing up her session with some AWESOME images.  Enjoy.

So Emily and I have been talking about her senior pictures for a LONG time.  I’m happy and honored that she decided such a long time that I should be the one to do this for her.  And then we did her rep session and it went wonderfully.  And then we planned her senior session.  And it was 103 degrees outside that day.  Now, I CAN shoot during those temperatures, but honestly does ANYONE look good in 103 degree heat and 80% humidity?  No!  And I wanted Emily to look and FEEL her best for her pictures.  So we rescheduled.  And then that day came and it rained and was cloudy and gross and then stormed.  So we rescheduled.  And we were MAJORLY rewarded.  A lovely day, 87 degrees with a light wind and low humidity.  So we finally had our session.  And without further ado… here they are.  Enjoy!

Okay so some newborns sleep.  And some eat.  And some fuss.  And some pee on us and some poop on us.  And you NEVER know what you are going to get.   So every session is interesting and different, just watching to see what kind of baby you’ll get.

So meet Mr Luke.  Precious little guy, 2nd born son to a sweet, fun family.  His mom and I had a great time chatting while we worked.  And let’s just say that after Luke… well I have a LOT of laundry to do!!    Enjoy.

Summer

My beautiful rep Eva returned this evening for her senior session. Apparently, however, mother nature didn’t want to play nice. It started out a little cloudy and then cleared up perfectly but by the time we really wanted to take advantage of the beautiful sun; mean, ugly clouds came up and ruined our fun. It was a HOT HOT night and I hope that when Eva and I can finish our session its a little less sweltering! So here she is, Eva part 1! Enjoy.

WOW.   Seriously, just wow.  We had a perfect night with perfect light.  Claire is a SWEET, fun, beautiful girl (with a beautiful mom and little sister) and they picked the perfect locations for her.  With perfect locations, amazing light and a beautiful, confident senior… I don’t think I could have gone wrong.  Photographing Claire was just so much fun for me (I think they might have noticed how much FUN I was having) and well… I’ll let the images speak for themselves.   Ready for a big sneak peek?  I hope so! I had the privilege to photography Miss Chloe this week.  We weren’t sure what was going to happen after a wild storm hit Murfreesboro but it cleared up and we got going! Things were a bit wet but luckily this photographer was prepared and I was able to dry most things off!   Chloe is a sweet girl with amazing BLUE BLUE eyes, I loved them!  We also took a few special images with a repeat client – her little cousin! Enjoy!
